In this article, it is aimed to reveal how school administrators are perceived as
instructional leaders, what kind of functions they fulfill and what their expectations are. In the
literature review, 13 master’s and doctoral theses on the subject were analyzed. In some of these studies, school administrators, in some others teachers, and in some others both together made
evaluations about instructional leaders. According to the results of the studies, instructional leadership
and different areas of education go in parallel sand it is seen that the school administrators examined
fulfill this function at an adequate level, even if there are partial deficiencies in this context.
